The Union Government has announced a substantial expansion of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), enhancing both the fiscal outlay and technological onboarding framework. Over 1.8 crore newly eligible tenant farmers and horticulturists will now be brought within the direct benefit transfer (DBT) ecosystem.
Under the enhanced scheme framework, the verification mechanism has been seamlessly linked with the AgriStack digital infrastructure and the Unified Farmer ID platform. This eliminates physical village revenue records and ensures instant quarterly disbursements directly into Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts.
Technology-Led Verification
By leveraging geospatial land mapping and automated crop-sowing registration, the department has achieved a 99.4% precision rate in beneficiary mapping, completely curtailing intermediation leakages. State agriculture departments have deployed mobile assistance kiosks at every Panchayat to facilitate bio-metric authentication for elderly farmers.
